FiberHome Achieving A Milestone Breakthrough In 400G QPSK Transmission In Mobile Backbone Network Experimental Network

Recently, The "Jiuzhou" Computing Optical Network Press Conference hosted by China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Mobile") was held in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, and successfully released the "Jiuzhou" Computing Optical Network Target Network Architecture White Paper. The white paper pointed out that Computing Optical Network is the key infrastructure for China Mobile to build a "Connectivity + Computing + Capability" new information service system, and the 400G all-optical backbone network is the foundational technology of the construction of "Jiuzhou" Computing Power Optical Network.

Under the leadership of China Mobile, FiberHome Communication has been continuously cooperating with China Mobile in the 400G field for many years, and has jointly achieved numerous technological breakthroughs. During the conference, FiberHome Communication successfully demonstrated three achievements of the 400G large capacity transportation platform, which were highly recognized by leaders & experts of China Mobile Group and various provincial companies.

Achievement 1: 400G QPSK C+L 1673km Long Haul Transmission Test Without Electric Relay

After FiberHome released the 6000km ultra long distance laboratory transmission results in the laboratory on May 17, the 1673km pure EDFA power free relay ultra long distance transmission based on the self-developed 400G QPSK module C+L band was realized in the research test of China Mobile. In the pilot project, FiberHome completed a one-way loop back network transmission from Gui'an New Area to Longhui, Hunan Province for a round-trip of 30 spans, and achieved outstanding performance with an OSNR>22dB at the end of the system, the module B2B performance OSNR < 15.8dB, and a C+L integrated EDFA noise index of 4.3-6.5dB. This fully verified that FiberHome's ultra long distance 400G QPSK transmission performance has the commercial capability of backbone networks, and its performance is at the leading level.

Achievement 2: Acceleration of Production in the Five Major Components of 400G QPSK System

Module, single disk, WSS, EDFA, and OTN processing chips are the five key components of the 400G QPSK system. At the conference, FiberHome demonstrated the self-developed and domestically produced "five major components" adopted in this pilot project, as well as the investment in 400G technology research over the years. Currently, FiberHome Communication's "five major components" of 400G have started small-scale production, and in the future, it will adhere to the concept of self-research, increase investment and actively carry out industrial chain collaboration to accelerate the localization of the 400G QPSK system.

Achievement 3: Building A High-Quality Transportation Platform To Assist The Implementation Of " Rendering Eastern Data in the West" And Comprehensively Improve User Experience

" Rendering Eastern Data in the West " is one of the four major business scenarios of “Channel computing resources from the east to the west” . Its characteristic is to uniformly schedule media raw materials, rendering tasks, etc. to the Western Cloud Pool, and the Western Data Center clusters will be used for film and television post production. FiberHome simulated this scenario by utilizing the 400G 1673km all optical backbone network. A single high-performance rendering server was deployed at the remote end, and the efficient rendering power to the conference was delivered to site with an efficient capacity of 400G, the rendering time of a 5s 2K video was reduced from 43 hours of an ordinary workstation to 7 hours, which greatlt improves the user experience in all means, successfully demonstrateing the potential of the all-optical Backbone network in enabling the scene of " Rendering Eastern Data in the West ".

The release of China Mobile's achievements indicates that the construction of the 400G system will enter a golden period of rapid development, and also means that the industrial chain will respond to the call to increase efforts in tackling 400G technology and assist in the commercial implementation of the 400G system.

Zhang Bin, President of FibeHome Communication Network Business Unit, summarized 400G technology during the industry seminar roundtable forum in a metaphor-“As Hundreds of sailing boats compete for the flow, yet the one who overcomes difficulties will strives first”. He said that FiberHome would continue to focus on digital transformation, strengthen technology empowerment, deepen cooperation with upstream and downstream manufacturers of the industrial chain, build a sustainable communication industry ecosystem and a solid all-optical base for computing network to promote new development of the digital economy in the future business development of the communications industry.
